Vocal lessons are all about building your voice as an instrument. We start with the foundations: learning how to breathe properly, control your pitch, and develop your tone. These basics are key to unlocking your full vocal potential and making your voice stronger and more versatile.
Once you’ve built a solid foundation, we focus on applying those skills to real music. You’ll learn how to approach songs, interpret lyrics, and use dynamics to tell a story through your voice. Whether you’re singing pop, rock, or musical theater, the goal is to find your unique sound and express it confidently.
As you progress, we’ll work on advanced techniques like extending your range, improving vocal agility, and mastering styles that suit your musical goals. You’ll also learn how to care for your voice so it stays healthy and strong.
Vocal lessons are not just about learning to sing but about developing your artistry. It’s a process of discovering what makes your voice special, applying techniques to bring out its best qualities, and, most importantly, having fun while doing it. Every lesson is tailored to your needs, helping you grow into the confident singer you want to be.
-
Absolutely. Voice lessons are designed to help anyone improve their singing, regardless of where they’re starting from. What some might label as "bad singing" often comes down to a lack of technique or confidence, both of which can be developed with guidance and practice.
In voice lessons, we focus on the fundamentals: proper breathing, pitch accuracy, and tone control. These skills may not feel natural at first, but with consistent effort, they become second nature. You’ll also learn to identify and correct habits that might be holding your voice back, like straining or struggling to stay on key.
Beyond technique, lessons help you connect with your voice in a new way. You’ll discover how to use it as an instrument and develop confidence in your ability to create sound that feels authentic and expressive. Progress may be gradual, but every small step builds toward a stronger, more controlled voice.
Singing isn’t about perfection—it’s about growth. With the right approach, even those who feel like they "can’t sing" can transform their abilities and experience the joy of making music. Everyone has the potential to improve their voice, and lessons provide the tools to unlock it.

Voice lessons can truly be any length desirable but, at Loudlands, we offer 30-minute, 45-minute, and 60-minute lessons.
Each duration can benefit different students in different ways. The easiest parameter for lesson length is age. Kids 10 and under should absolutely start with 30-minute lessons. Beyond that age it really depends on the student.
If you’re an adult we will only work with you in 45-minute and 60-minute lesson lengths. The reason is that you have more stamina and capacity to learn.
One consideration is how new you are to singing. With singing, your instrument is your body. It can potentially get tiring until you’ve learned the fundamentals and technique to sing in a safe way.
We recommend starting with 45-minute lessons and increasing to 60-minutes if and when you feel it’s time or necessary.
